Questions & Answers
Q: Hi, we're thinking of buying your shift scheduler. We have 6 ops, 1 per shift over the weekend (7-7), 6 week cycle. Is there anyway to tell your SW not to give 4 ops 1 weekend shift each, we'd rather 2 ops did 2 each.
A: The scheduler applies a random shift allocation to meet the roster requirements and constraints. To force specific staff to work certain shifts you can manually set them by entering a Y in the required staff shift matrix cell before you build roster. This would allow you to force 2 staff to do 2 shifts each on the weekend (ie input a Y for each staff/shift). Manual input Y is only valid for 1 build roster and must be input before you click the build roster button.

Q: Is there a way that I can change the labels from Monday-Day,Monday-Late...... to the actual names of the shift? This makes scheduling much easier for us.
A: The Format Print sheet is not protected and once you have used the Format Print function you can then select and edit any cell on the sheet ie change Mon-Day to what ever you like. On the input sheet the label is preset and locked related to the shift time (it could be changed with some programming work).

Q: Do you have a version or a reverse view of shift scheduler that looks like the attached, i.e. it has the positions and then allocates staff to those positions.
A: No we do not have a reverse view but you can link from cells in the Shift Scheduler to a new workbook and arrange the data/display any way you like. That may provide what you require.

Q: I am trying the Shift Scheduler but cannot figure out what the meaning of the Staff Roster Period Limit and Staff Shift Limit variables?
A: Staff Roster Period Limit is the maximum number of hours any staff member can work during the Roster period. For example if the roster covers 1 week and staff can only work a maximum of 40 hours per week then set the Staff Roster Period Limit as 40. Staff Shift Limit is the number of hours any staff member can work in a single shift. For example if staff can only work a maximum of 8 hours in a shift then set the Staff Shift Limit as 8.
