Questions & Answers
Q: I purchased this program and used it to do a budget for 2003. What I would like to do is a comparison from 2003 to 2004 Can this be done if so could you please let me how.
A: You cannot overlay following years but the budget will handle up to 5 consecutive years so you can simply extend your 2003 budget onto 2004. If you check Variation for the year on the input sheet it will show the difference between years but the graph will not overlay years only plot over the full time frame.

Q: I am looking at your trial version of the compiler. Does it allow for classes? If so, I will purchase it.

Q: You are amazing. I have never seen a software provider caring about the end users and inviting their comments. I am a consultant and I want to know if your product could be used beyond budget compilation in QB. In QB when you create reports with comparison to previous month and previuos period, the % shows only for the current month in selection. Argument sake, if I send this report to CSV format, eliminate % coulmn, and pull in your program, will I be able to insert the % columns for the missing periods? Truly appreciate your input and help.
A: The Budget Compiler basically loads the csv file into a formatted sheet. This includes preset display functions one of which is Percentages. If you select percentages and Update View percentages for each line item by month will be displayed. There are also an array of additional display options that can be selected. It is also possible to simply copy the displayed P and L to a new workbook and add any specific details you desire ie comparisons etc. Thanks for the feedback.

Q: I've downloaded Budget Compiler QuickBooks Excel 20 shareware (excel sheet), but it is protected with a password. Could you send a version not protected.
A: Input cells (blue) are not protected and are the only cells that should be changed for the software to function correctly. As outlined in the Terms and Conditions and Frequently Asked Questions page all non-input cells and Visual Basic code are protected to ensure integrity and protect source code. All input is via unprotected input cells, protected cells contain formula and should not be changed. The software is fully functional and the protection is in place to ensure the software formula and code is not corrupted.

Q: Hi, I am a registered user of Qbooks Budget Compiler. I have a problem that I can't seem to solve. When compiling a budget, the December figures are not imported into the compiler. They are correctly imported from Qbooks to the PL.csv file, but the actual compiler does not pick the data up (December figures only). I am trying to compile a budget on a monthly basis for the period September to March. All months are imported correctly, except December which remains blank. I tried to import data from the previous year(same period) and the same happens.....December is not imported. Can you please advise why this may be the case?
A: The most likely reason is the formatting of the December PL file, possibly the date. Check that the date in the PL file appears in the same location (cell) and is formated the same as previous Month PL files (or the sample PL's provided). If the date appears to be an issue you can simply input the required date directly into the PL file without having to rebuild the complete PL file. If the December PL file structure is the same as previous months it should import.
