Questions & Answers
Q: If you want to assign several people to the same shift (I want them permanently there) what do you do? I tried it, built the schedule and everyone had moved around. I described the shift and put a YÂ in the appropriate cells, but they all moved.
A: Marked cells ie input a "Y" only operate for 1 Build Roster and are then cleared to allow a new roster. So you cannot permanently set them for repeat rosters, they need to be re input before each build roster. If staff are permanently on set shifts then depending upon your structure you maybe able to simply exclude this shift allocation from the roster calculation as it is predetermined.

Q: How do you set up the schedule to print?
A: The Format Print button on the Input sheet builds a formatted roster table and displays it in the Format Print sheet. The Format Print sheet is only updated with the current roster details when the Format Print command button is used. You can Print the Format Print Sheet or the input sheet using the standard Excel commands ie from the required sheet Excel Toolbar go File, Print. For details see the Format Print section of the Help file https://bizpep.com/shiftscheduler.html .

Q: I have question that I could not find the answer to on your website. Does the password protection software restrict a password to one IP address? If not, how do we stop password sharing? Can we stop password sharing?
A: Password Page Protection Software protects a web page. Anyone that has the password can use it to access the web page. There is no ip address logging or checks, often a users ip address is not static and will change. Like all passwords if the password is shared with others they will also be able to use it.

Q: Can I enter current data into the programme as dollar values for fixed cost and percentages for variable costs.
A: Yes on the Input Overall Performance Data sheet select your Expense cell D16 input as Monetary or Percent (drop down list when clicked). This allows you to input your Expenses directly in Monetary (Dollars, Pounds etc) or Percentage terms. This is also available for Revenue cell C11 on the Segment sheets.

Q: I may not always need 5 columns - problems entering zeros.
A: Profit Contribution Breakdown Excel is designed for 5 segments (Products and Customers). If you have less than five you can either divide your existing segments into 2 (or more) resulting in multiple segments with the same values (ie duplicates). Alternatively for the not required Product or Customer segment set the Segment Revenue and Transaction data to very low numbers and the relative indicators and potential and ability values to 0 except a single fixed cost relative indicator (usually Other) which is used to add a cost equal to the revenue of the segment (so the comparative values are valid). For example in the product segment for a Revenue of 1 we need a Fixed cost of 1 for 0 profit. This is done by setting the Fixed Cost Other to 1 in the Overall performance data sheet and allocating all of this to the empty product segment by setting the empty Product segment relative indicator to 100 and all other segment relative indicators to 0 for the Fixed cost Other. In the attached file I have set the Customer segment 4 and Product segment 4 in this manner for your reference.
