Questions & Answers
Q: I just purchased your software to build a supervision schedule for our high school staff. We have to schedule approx. 96 staff in 14 different areas throughout the school over the noon hour for the entire school year. I am having difficulty getting the program to respond to this request as I am unable to change the end date field. Specially I want to....Create 14 areas Schedule 48 teams (2 per team), Max 4 days in a row from Sept 5/06 to June 20/07. Each team should be balanced in terms of the total supervision worked.
A: To build a week roster simply add the number of shifts you require for that week and the number of staff that will be covering those shifts. By default the scheduler will make each shift follow on but you can overwrite the Start Date and Time and Length of a shift to make it anything you like (but they should be in chronological order). There a a number of approaches you can use....For your situation you have 48 teams (or staff) so you can treat each team as a staff member (when if fact it is 2), 14 areas each requiring 1 team each day. So for a week setup 14 * 5 days shifts set to 1 hour length ie 5 lots of 14 with the same start date all with the same start time (11:30?) and all with the same Length (1 hour?) and all with the same Shift Requirement of 1 (team) . Add your 48 teams (staff ie Fred and Jim). Set Max Cont hours to 1 or what ever the length of a shift is and Build Roster. To limit the days worked in a row you can set the Days Worked in a Row or the Max Hours in the roster period. As this is a fairly large roster try setting up a small version first ie maybe a couple of areas and teams to get a feel for how it works before you try a full roster. Depending on your requirements you may want to structure it differently ie you could run separate rosters for areas, or use individual staff instead of teams, or run it by day etc.

Q: I'm creating a one page web site that I want to be able to password protect. In addition, I want to be able to send an email out to college coaches that will have a link to take them to the site that will have the password embedded so they don't have to type it in to view the site. Very simply, they click on the link and have access to the page. Can your product do this easily. Are there any limitations as to what situations it will not work? Does the password protection work if javascript is disabled? I'm not a techie!
A: Yes you can easily to this. The protection is done server side (via the php coding) and is not browser dependant so it works without javascript (or any other browser requirements). As long as your server supports php it will work. You can use a GET variable ie http://www.mydomain/mypage.html?pw=mypassword (where mypassword is the one set in the protection code) as a url that will provide direct page access without having to input the password. Just set the Use Get variable, see the Help file for details. You can give it a try free for 7 days from https://bizpep.com/password/ .
