Q: Will I be using the SW as stand alone or each time i have to login to your site and use online?
A: It is recommended that you download the software and then install (upload) it to your server. When you run it from your server you do not need to access our server at all. To register the software you will need to input your Registration Details for the software running on your server. Registration Details are saved as cookies so as long as your browser allows cookies to be set (and they are not cleared) your registration will be retained.

Q: I have downloaded your demo and I'm interested in trying it out. Before I get too involved though, I'd like to find out if it's design will meet our needs. Basically, I'm looking for a program that will allow the sharing and rotation of two "tasks" or "shifts" daily by three people on a monthly basis. More specifically, we have a group of four people, 3 full time and 1 part time. Three of us share 2 different call positions every night, and our part time person shares our call on the weekends. I'm looking for a program that will allow us to rotate these two call positions daily between the 3 of us (on weekdays) and 4 of us (on weekends). My only other requirements are that the number of times we take each call position be split evenly among the three full time people each month, that the days we take one of the two call positions be spaced out as far apart as possible (ie. not back to back if possible), that the call positions on Friday are fixed through Sunday (ie. you keep your call position Friday through Sunday), and that the weekend call be shared monthly as evenly as possible among the four of us. If the second half (my more detailed description) doesn't make sense, I'd still be interested in whether or not your program would meet the requirements of my more general description. Thank you for your help. Look forward to your response.
A: To see if it suits it is probably best to give it a run, however I can provide some information that may assist. The Shift Scheduler applies the same parameters to each staff member across the duration of the roster. For your situation this means that you would need to manually force a NO work for your part time staff during the week (so they would not be considered) or set up two separate rosters; one for the week and one for the weekend. On the split evenly requirement the scheduler applies a random process to allocate shifts but will only allocate up to the set hours allowed so this will create a balance however it does not consider the positioning of shifts beyond attempting to meet the minimum break requirements. In other words it will not consider the 'as far away as possible' situation. Once again though you could manually force NO work situations to meet your requirements. I suggest you give it a run with some basic scenarios to get a feel and then build up from there.

Q: I need to know how to exclude both whole directories and specific files for the sitemap. For instance, I have directories that I do not want crawled under my domain, and I need to exclude all listings in a directory (such as under ./directory/admin), and I have a mix of http & https files on my site. Google is giving me an error as the sitemap is listing all protocols in the same sitemap and this is not a valid listing (according to google).
A: For your sitemap to be Google valid all urls must be of the same domain and protocol. Use the full url for your start url ie ..http://www.mydomain.com/. The first start domain sets the base domain used for the site map. Links that have this (ie ..www.mydomain.com) as the domain or are relative links (which will be given the base domain) will be included in the sitemap. To exclude a secure url (ie ..https://www.mydomain.com) just add https to the Exclude URLs with. Also it is worth remembering ..http://mydomain.com/ is different to ..http://sub.mydomain.com/ or for that matter ..http://www.mydomain.com/. So if you want to include different sub domains to Google SiteMaps you will need different sitemaps. To exclude a directory you can use the Exclude URLs with ie to exclude the dir directory and files add dir/ to the Exclude URLs with. This would exclude all urls that include dir/ ie everything in the dir/ directory. To exclude a single file in the the dir/ directory such as ..http://www.mydomain.com/dir/mypage.html add dir/mypage.html to the Exclude URLs with. Also the values you set as Include URLs will impact on the urls used. If you set Include URLs with as .htm then only urls with .htm will be included. This removes ..http://www.mydomain.com/gooddir/ but allows ..http://www.mydomain.com/gooddir/mypage.htm or ..http://www.mydomain.com/gooddir/mypage.html.

Q: Is there a possibility to spider more than 5000 links an deeper than 5?
A: Yes, if you set the variables in the script you can actually set them to any values you like. However as the these values are increased the processing time will increase. If you are running a Dynamic Site Map your server will need to be able to process the site map completly before it times out, or the calling server stops the process.
