Q: I am an individual that is interested in valuing some business opportunities. I would like to more fully understand your formulas. I want to be prepared to argue differences in Bizpep's valuations and the seller's valuations. What would it cost me as an individual to view the formula's in your valuation software?
A: The relationships are outlined in the Forecast Data section of the Help file https://bizpep.com/businessvaluation.html . Also if you purchase a Commercial license (3* $39.00) we can provide an unprotected software version allowing you to to view the formula applied to enhance your knowledge of software operation (macros remain protected). In this format application sheets are unprotected, the workbook itself and the Terms and Conditions and Instructions sheets remain protected to maintain licencing and intellectual property rights notification.

Q: I would like to know how does the various variables used as in level of competition, market strength, business market position and others if any, affect the computation of the forecast revenue? I need to know the formula that goes in to enable me to justify the use of the percentages. Same will apply for the expenses as well. Hope you can assist here. I have been using this tool for the evaluation period and found it very useful, and decided to get a license.
A: The relationships are outlined in Forecast Data sections of the Instructions sheet and online Help file https://bizpep.com/businessvaluation.html . We also offer Commercial licenses for the use of software for inter-business support, advice, or consulting and upon request with a Commercial license can provide an unprotected software version allowing you to to view the formula applied, access cell contents to enhance your knowledge of software operation (macros remain protected) and undertake minor refinements (ie headings etc). Q: I am using a trial Forecast and Budget Builder and wonder if there is a way to assess the following. I am looking at a business which has products ranging from a few dollars to several thousand dollars per unit. Is there any easy way to insert figures to build a budget for the whole operation, rather than do a spread sheet for each product ? There are several hundred products!
A: Using Forecast and Budget Builder you can use total business figures or break the business into sub businesses by bundling products together. In general unless there is substantial difference between the markets of the products (ie consumer goods vs government services for example) then the best approach is to simply use total business figures (ie all products together) to determine forecast inputs.

Q: I have created a forecast(budget in QuickBooks) Unlike the QuickBooks Lists-The report account numbers do not show on the report in alphabetical order. When I try to create a budget in Excel,(with account numbers listed in alphabetical order) I cannot import it into QuickBooks. Does the budget compiler give me the option to rearrange the account numbers in excel, and then import the budget into QuickBooks with the account numbers in alphabetical order?
A: You can import the Imp.iff file (created by the Budget Compiler QuickBooks when you create a New Budget) into Excel. From a new Excel Workbook go Data, Get External Data, Import Text File,. Use all files and Delimited. This will import into excel and can then be sorted via Excel. You can then save the sort Excel file as a Text file (Tab delimited), name it Imp.iff and import back into QuickBooks. I am not sure if this provides what you are looking for but you can give it a try to see if it suits.
