Q: I would like a GST accounting software to replace E record, the software that the ATO gave out a few years ago. I have the latest Mac computer. The E record software had receipts, payments, wages and super and then it would work out the information needed to fill in the BAS form.
A: Our BAS Business Accounts Software Excel https://bizpep.com/basbusinessaccounts.html may be suitable. It is Excel based but should run on a Mac spreadsheet. It does not include wages but generates BAS data directly from income and expenses. You can download it a give it a test run for free to review its functionality.

Q: I run a 3 shifts per day 24x7. The tool looks and works awesome. However I have two concerns.. The roster is for humans, it allocates emp1 on Monday for 8-16hrs shift and the same emp1 for a 00:00 to 08:00(midnight shift). Rotating like this is going to be difficult and my employee sleep cycles goes for a toss. I am wondering if there is something that can be done to make sure that the same employee stays in the allocated shift all thru the month? For exmaple, I would like emp1 to be in morning shifts all thru the month or at least 80% of the times? I also would like to spare one day of the weekend for every employee - how can I achieve this?
A: Using the Min Break Hrs you can force the allocation to include a 2 shift break ie if you have three 8 hour shifts per day set the Min Break Hrs as 16 this means that the next shift staff can work is the corresponding shift on the next day. You will also need to set the Max Cont Hrs as less than 2 shifts and equal to or greater than 1 shift ie in your case 8 hours, this only allows them to work 1 shift in a row. The 1 day off will need to be manually set by forcing a Yes or No work requirement by inputting a "Y" or "N" to mark a matrix cell before you Build Roster. See the Shift Details section of the Help file https://bizpep.com/shiftscheduler.html . hope this helps and thanks for the feedback.

Q: In the accounts tab of the program i need a new account cell to rate GST at a 100% calculation rate , not 10 %. Just one cell to calculate future entries to that account at 100 %. All other gst account entries to stay as calculating at 10%.
A: You can set new tax rates in the Tax sheet by adding a Tax Item with the required %. Then in the Accounts sheet set your new account with the required Tax Item. However setting an item as 100% tax calculates as income/expense being 50% of the paid/received amount and the tax as 50%. You cannot set the full amount as tax because this effectively means that there is no income or expense. However you can set the Tax item % as a very large number ie 9999999999 and the practical result will be full tax. So in the Tax sheet add a Tax Item 'Full GST' with the % 9999999999. In the Accounts sheet set a new account name and select the Tax Item 'Full GST'. When you use this account the tax amount will effectively be the full amount.
