Q: I have been having problems using Sitemap XML to successfully parse my international site. I have discovered that adding to the 'Exclude URLs with' field solves my problem ... unless it is blocked I get the following error in my browser: Unrecognised entity: Ã If you can let me know if this is a problem with Sitemap XML or with Googles DTD it would really be appreciated. I will be able to let Google know if the problem is at their end.

A: The problem is mostly likely the encoding. SiteMap XML uses UTF-8 encoding as required by Google. This may not be compatible with some international characters used on your site. You may be able to find further details and possible solutions related to this issue at the Google Sitemaps Groups page http://groups.google.com/group/google-sitemaps .
