Q: Do the line items for each month have to be consistently in the same place for each month for the summary to calculate correctly
A: No, line item order does not matter but all Accounts used in the Income or Expense sheets must be exactly as set in the Accounts sheet this is best achieved by selecting the Accounts used in the Income / Expense sheet from the dropdown. If they do not match exactly they can not be paired with the correct Account and this will result in calculation errors.
