Q: Hi... I'm looking at buying a license for your sitemap app but don't understand it yet even after trying the demo. Heres what I need: 1. A php script that will automatically remove the /sitemap.xml file 2. Once removed it will automatically spider my site and re-create a new sitemap.php file for google, yahoo, ask, teoma, etc. 3. It must automatically ping their new sitemap urls to automatically add the new sitemap. 4. Do this every day via a cron job. Can your app do this?
A: If you use the dynamic script option SiteMap XML Software will give you outcome I think you want. The dynamic script is your sitemap, every time it is called it rebuilds the sitemap so that it is always current. So you do not need to replace the sitemap.xml file just build your dynamic sitemap code, upload to your server (sitemap.php), and set your google sitemap url to sitemap.php. Every time it is called by google or any one it will update (it could be a cron job but it serves no purpose as it is dynamic and not stored). You do not need to ping as google will regularly crawl the sitemap, You can set crawl. frequency in your google account.
