Q: I am creating an app for a local club where members have to check in when they enter. I have all the membership data in an access db. I am considering options between oracle's apex and your toolset. Do you have any samples or pointers for me to see how difficult it may to create this app with your tools. The specs are: 1. Check-in Form - will accept membership tag information from a USB bar code reader (this is std in and works into the active program in windows e.g. notepad etc). Upon entry of bar code, the form must query the member table to confirm the member's data and present the results (Welcome, Expired, Invalid, Not Allowed etc) and update the visit_log table to log the transaction. Overtime I would like it to present the member's picture and other data as well. 2. Member management - this would be a form app to create, edit and delete membership data with triggers to record changes (old data into log tables and new data into member tables). Also, could your forms work with oracle's db too?
A: Form1 Builder MYSQL does not provide query functionality, or full database manipulation. It simpler generates form code (for layout and processing) and then when the form is submitted adds the form data to the MYSQL database and sends it to the delivery email address. This does not provide the functionality you require, this would have to be specifically programmed. Form1 Builder MYSQL does not work with oracle.
