Questions & Answers
Q: On my multiform page, if a user needs to go back to a previous page to change something (or fill in a required field he missed), the form maintains the inputted info as long as the back button is being clicked. Then, when the user changes what he needs to and clicks "Next", all the info he already filled in on the following pages is gone. I believe this happens because the "Next" button is a submit button. Is there any remedy for this?
A: The data is only remembered when the form is submitted or the next button is clicked. Simply filling in the fields does not generate a data record so there is no method to remember filled in data that has not been processed. Forms should be designed to minimize users going back and forth between form pages.
