Q: Have gone thru the Business Valuation Model for the Manufacturing Sector. Do you have a similar model for the Services Industry specifically for the Training Industry for a start up company ?

A: The methodology applied in the Business Valuation Model Excel www.bizpeponline.com can be applied to both services and manufacturing businesses. Simply input the basic fixed and variable costs for the specific business. In manufacturing components and labor will form some of the variable costs while in services variable costs will be predominately labor (trainers) and and delivery costs ie rooms/materials etc.

Q: I have a small accounting business and I am looking to improve my own business equity as well start looking for another business to purchase. I would like to have the ability to run numbers for prospective businesses I may want to purchase. I may only use the software 2-3 times a quarter, so I do not want to get into a monthly fee. I think there is a version where I can buy it once and have it installed on my PC. Prior to doing so is there a trial copy I can use to play with it before I buy it?

A: You can access Business Valuation Model Excel directly at: www.bizpeponline.com . This is available for a once only registration fee of $69.00 (no ongoing fee). You can download, install on your PC, give it a test run and then purchase a license to register it. Hope that helps.

Q: I'm trying to input percentages in the Expense section (instead of dollars) and let the dollars calculate - but it looks like I need to unprotect the sheet to do so. Is this correct?

A: If you click the blue heading cell (C15) that says Monetary a drop down appears allowing you to select Percent. Select this and the blue input cells are now percentages. The yellow cells contain formula and are protected. Hope this helps.

Q: Almost one month ago I bought your excel sheets "business valuation model". I would like to unprotect formula but i need the password. Would it be possible to send me the password?

A: Input cells (blue) are not protected and are the only cells that should be changed for the software to function correctly. As outlined in the Terms and Conditions and Frequently Asked Questions page all non-input cells are protected to ensure integrity. All input is via unprotected input cells, protected cells contain formula and should not be changed. The software is fully functional and the protection is in place to ensure the software formula and code is not corrupted. We do offer Commercial licenses for the use of software for inter-business support, advice, or consulting and with a Commercial license provide access to an unprotected software version. In an unprotected Commercial software version calculation sheets are protected without a password and can be unprotected allowing you to view the underlying formula applied to enhance your knowledge of software operation and undertake minor refinements (ie headings etc). An additional calculation sheet named Worksheet is also displayed and includes underlying formula and calculations. All non calculation sheets and the workbook remain password protected. Any changes may impact on the validity of the software. It is recommended that you save a copy of the downloaded software as a master to ensure that you always have a valid software version. You can upgrade from a Non-Commercial license to a Commercial license at www.bizpep.com . Please note that Bizpep retain full copyright and intellectual property rights at all times.
