Q: I'm trying to input percentages in the Expense section (instead of dollars) and let the dollars calculate - but it looks like I need to unprotect the sheet to do so. Is this correct?

A: If you click the blue heading cell (C15) that says Monetary a drop down appears allowing you to select Percent. Select this and the blue input cells are now percentages. The yellow cells contain formula and are protected. Hope this helps.

Q: Almost one month ago I bought your excel sheets "business valuation model". I would like to unprotect formula but i need the password. Would it be possible to send me the password?

A: Input cells (blue) are not protected and are the only cells that should be changed for the software to function correctly. As outlined in the Terms and Conditions and Frequently Asked Questions page all non-input cells are protected to ensure integrity. All input is via unprotected input cells, protected cells contain formula and should not be changed. The software is fully functional and the protection is in place to ensure the software formula and code is not corrupted. We do offer Commercial licenses for the use of software for inter-business support, advice, or consulting and with a Commercial license provide access to an unprotected software version. In an unprotected Commercial software version calculation sheets are protected without a password and can be unprotected allowing you to view the underlying formula applied to enhance your knowledge of software operation and undertake minor refinements (ie headings etc). An additional calculation sheet named Worksheet is also displayed and includes underlying formula and calculations. All non calculation sheets and the workbook remain password protected. Any changes may impact on the validity of the software. It is recommended that you save a copy of the downloaded software as a master to ensure that you always have a valid software version. You can upgrade from a Non-Commercial license to a Commercial license at www.bizpep.com . Please note that Bizpep retain full copyright and intellectual property rights at all times.

Q: Hello, how difficult will be to change the file not to 3 but for 20 years analysis?

A: We do have a browser based Business Valuation Model at www.businesssoftwaremanagement.com which allows you to set the forecast years up to 10 years. This model applies the same methodology as the Excel based version. It is worth noting that as the number of forecast years is increased the reliability of the forecast decreases because the further into the future we look the less certain it becomes. Generally a 3 year forecast provides a solid base for analysis. Adjusting the Excel version for increased years would require a rework of the calculation sheets (not a straight forward exercise) however another option is to simply build a number of consecutive forecasts using the outputs of the first as the inputs of the second etc you could apply this approach to build a forecast for as many years as required.
