Q: I am a chartered accountant and when the point came up commercial or non commercial it seems that you charge 3 times the price , Do you consider me commercial or non commercial and why the hike in price.

A: If you will be using the software to provide a service to your clients ie assessing client businesses then a Commercial license is required. A Commercial license allows the commercial use of software for inter-business support, advice, or consulting. If it is only for assessing you own business a Non-Commercial license is suitable. You can upgrade from a Non-Commercial license to a Commercial license at www.bizpep.com .

Q: I have found that when I change the Valuation Data field for 1)Market Value of Property and/or 2) Other Investment of Business it has no effect on the calculated "Current Expected Valuation". This is true even when I put in false values that exceed the computed expected value. How can this be true? The value of real property needs to be calculated in the Expected Value - True?

A: As outlined in the mouseover comments the Other Investment in Business value is adjusted to balance the equation ie if you change the property value and leave the valuation data the same click the Update Total Investment to button on the valuation sheet the Other Investment value will change to adjust for the property change. Because the performance of the business is not impacted by the adjustment (which balances out) the valuation remains the same there is just more or less Other Investment.

Q: I just downloaded your free trial "bvme.zip" and am trying to run it on using Excel 2004 for Mac OS10. I've opened the file, and can see the reporting tabs, but the input tabs are not visible, and the hyperlinks from the Instructions screen don't work.

A: Some versions of Mac Excel do not support all Macros required. Once a license has been purchased we can provide pre registered software that will run on these Mac's. For evaluation please run the software on a Windows based machine.

Q: Hi. In my valuation model, the cell that allows me to enter the interest rate against money borrowed is locked and requires a password for me to enter the information. How do I unlock this cell?

A: As stated in the model mouse over this is calculated from the Financed Amount and the Annual Interest Cost, you do not enter an interest rate, only the amount and interest, the rate is calculated.
